Clinical activities and interests/research

I currently work as a clinical nurse specialist for teenage and young adult patients with sarcoma. I work within the London Sarcoma Service at University College London Hospital. I am thoroughly enjoying my role, and relish the responsibility of being a key worker for these patients. I find working with this niche population both challenging and inspiring, and it gives me great pleasure to act as patients’ advocate throughout their cancer experience.

My role includes;

• Supporting patient and families dealing with distressing diagnosis and prognosis

• Advocating for patients and being the key worker for young adults with a sarcoma diagnosis

• I work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

• Facilitating patient education, teaching patients about their chemotherapy regimens, side effects and what to do in an emergency, using their shared care folders as visual tools.
