Lizzie Burns

Artist for the UCLH Sarcoma Unit

Lizzie Burns

Lizzie Burns has recently joined the Sarcoma Unit at the University College Hospital offering creative sessions for patients during their treatment. She believes the opportunity to try something different and become absorbed can make a difference.

"I have always been interested in art and medicine. I enjoy spending time being creative myself and encouraging others to discover their own talents.

Unusually for an artist, I have a doctorate in biology from the University of Oxford. My own work is inspired by the human body and the hope medical research brings, and has been described by the government's former Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir David King as 'an exciting, refreshing, optimistic view of medical sciences in oils. Brilliant'".
