I trained in general medicine and oncology in Melbourne, Australia before coming to Southampton to take up a clinical research fellowship and subsequent appointment as Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Medical Oncology.

Clinical activities and interests/research

I have worked for University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust since 1992 and have been a consultant since 1996 specialising in the management of bone and soft tissue sarcomas, breast cancer and testicular cancer. I am the UHS Clinical Lead for Sarcoma, was chair of the former Central South Coast Cancer Network Sarcoma Site Specific Group (SSG) and now the Wessex sarcoma SSG.

I lead an active clinical trials programme in breast cancer and sarcoma in Southampton and have been involved in the development and oversight of a number of national breast cancer clinical trials. I have also been a member of the NCRI Breast and Testicular Cancer Clinical Studies Groups.
