A webchat on Sarcoma

25 August 2017 - A webchat on Sarcoma

Last month, Anne McTiernan, Lead Sarcoma Clinical Nurse Specialist at UCLH was asked to host a live webchat for patients with sarcoma, entitled "Living with Sarcoma". This was part of the UCLH series of live webchats called "Ask an Expert", and was timed to coincide with sarcoma awareness week.

The main focus of the questions that Anne was asked was on the day to day living with cancer - what could patients do to help themselves, should they be on any special diet, when do the side effects of chemotherapy start getting better, and could they work or travel whilst on treatment.

Anne thoroughly enjoyed the experience: "It was a privelege to be able to do the webchat, and make just a small contribution to this group of patients. It really was a good learning experience and it was good fun too!"
