On the ground floor of the new UCH Macmillan Cancer Centre which opened in April 2012 you will find the Macmillan Support & Information Service, a welcoming and quiet space to feel listened to, understood and informed. This new service is an expanded version of the Macmillan Information Centre that was in the Rosenheim Building. The service is available for any patient, carer, friend or family member at any stage of their cancer journey. You can make an appointment at the service by calling 020 3447 8663 or emailing or you can ‘drop-in’ any time between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

To visit the Macmillan Support and Information Centre you will come via the ‘Welcome desk’ which is on the right hand side of the entrance of the Cancer Centre. Here you will be greeted by a member of staff or volunteer who can tell you about the services provided. The entrance to the Support and Information Centre is just by the Welcome desk. Once inside you will find yourself in the ‘Living Room’. This is a comfortable, welcoming, quite space where you can drop in and speak to an experienced team of professional staff and volunteers. You may find it helpful to share concerns with one of the team members, ask questions or simply sit quietly. You will also be able to sit round a beautiful table to talk and share your experiences with other patients and families if you wish.

Services offered at the centre include:

  • access to high quality, personalised information
  • individual emotional support
  • welfare and benefits advice
  • complementary therapies such as massage, aromatherapy, reflexology and reiki
  • practical support, including wig fitting, scarf tying and help with returning to work
  • a programme of group activities such as ‘Look Good, Feel Better’ workshops, exercise classes, dietary advice and cancer support groups
  • an extensive lymphoedema service in purpose built rooms to facilitate efficient treatment and comfort

This is an evolving service and we would be grateful for feedback from all our visitors to help us adapt and offer support in response to what people tell us. Please send any comments to or
