A health and wellbeing event for sarcoma patients was held on Saturday 28^th June 2014 at RNOH. Patients who were 6 to 12 months following cancer treatment were invited to participate and a total of 21 patients and carers attended.

The day began with an introductory talk by Mr Skinner, Sarcoma surgeon, and a personal account of sarcoma presented by a service user. The group were then given the opportunity to share their own sarcoma stories, and learn a little about emotional wellbeing. After lunch there were a number of workshops run by a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, and a dietician, covering subjects such as anxiety and fatigue management, returning to work, and the benefits of exercise and healthy eating. Complimentary therapy taster sessions were on offer throughout the day, as well as a number of charity stalls.

The day was well evaluated by patients and carers, and will be repeated in November 2014.
